Members of the new Let’s Grow! Mineola garden club work with Promise of Peace Gardens founder, Elizabeth Dry, to prepare and plant raised bed gardens at the Outdoor Learning Center. Under Ms. Dry’s supervision, students created and enjoyed a fresh basil pesto and cucumber snack.
Mrs. Witt's 7th grade science students are exploring lichen and moss and discovering the composition of soil using digital microscopes. Thank you, Mineola Education Foundation!
On Wednesday, October 25th, we will be giving the PSAT 8/9 test on the middle school campus. The cost is $14.00 and the test is available to 8th grade students. The PSAT 8/9 allows students to practice and prepare for the SAT. It gives them an opportunity to work on timed tests since they tend to struggle with the time constraints of the SAT and ACT. In addition, the PSAT corresponds directly to the SAT, and with the results, you will receive information on how to continue to prepare for the SAT based on your student’s scores. If you would like for your son or daughter to take the PSAT 8/9, they must sign up in the office by tomorrow, October 4th . They have until next Wednesday, October 11th, to pay the registration fee.
Great turnout this morning for See You at the Pole, a student-led prayer event! Thank you to #KVNE for providing us with music and donuts!

Mrs. Witt's 7th grade science students and Mrs. Overall's 7th grade math students are working together on a rocket launch project. Mrs. Witt's students designed rockets for a unit on living in space; the students fired their rockets today to see whose rocket "made it into space". Mrs. Overall's students collected the data on distance and time and will prepare spreadsheets to analyze the data.

Pro tip: If a student comes to school before or after a health care appointment (doctor, dental, therapy, etc.) and brings back a note, they will receive attendance credit for that day. If a student does not come to school at all that day, the note will only make it an excused absence. This is still considered an absence for perfect attendance and incentive trip consideration.
