Re: Weekly COVID-19 Update
In keeping with Mineola ISD's practice of response to COVID-19, we are notifying our school community that for the time period between Monday, December 14th through Friday, December 18th we had two positive cases of COVID-19 among our student population. One of these cases were reported at our Primary School and the other case was reported at our Elementary School.
Also, two Primary School employees and three High School employees tested positive for COVID-19 during the week as well.
We continue to deploy our rapid response testing system to help identify and control the spread of the virus among employees and students. Our testing system continues to be an effective tool to help families make appropriate, personal, healthcare decisions. As of Friday, December 18th, 2020, the case count involving Mineola ISD Employees and Students since the beginning of the school year were as follows:
28 Positive Employee Cases- 23 Recovered, 5 Active
50 Positive Student Cases- 48 Recovered, 2 Active
The most effective practices to control the spread of COVID-19 continue to be washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds, wearing a mask, and practicing social distancing. Parents and Guardians, thank you again for all of your cooperation and help throughout this pandemic. Your partnership and support has been vitally important in being able to keep our schools open for students.
We hope each of you have a great weekend and enjoy the Holiday Break! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
