Re: Weekly COVID-19 Update
In keeping with Mineola ISD's practice of response to COVID-19, we are notifying our school community that for the time period between Monday, January 18th through Friday, January 22nd the following cases of COVID were documented:
2 Primary Campus Staff Members
1 Elementary Campus Staff Member
1 Middle School Staff Member
1 Mineola ISD Employee- Non-Specific Campus Assignment
2 Elementary Campus Students
Since the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, we have experienced the following case counts:
38 Positive Employee Cases- 32 Recovered, 6 Active
52 Positive Student Cases- 50 Recovered, 2 Active
As hospitalization rates remain above 15% in the East Texas region and vaccine quantities are of limited supply and focused toward targeted members of our population, we must continue to be focused on washing our hands with soap and water for 20 minutes, wearing a mask, and practicing social distancing.
Parents and guardians, thank you again for all of your cooperation and help throughout this pandemic. Your partnership and support has been vitally important in being able to keep our schools open for students.
Our best always,
Cody Mize
Superintendent of Schools

One of our newest programs at Mineola High School in the Career and Technical Education Department is HVAC and Electrical Systems. This class is taught by Mr. Ramirez and is gaining popularity as a great skill set to obtain before entering higher education or the job market.
This photo captures Mr. Ramirez and students participating in a roundtable discussion with workers in the industry in the newly redesigned classroom space that was formerly the Maintenance Building.
