HELLO! I'M OFFICER TIM...
Hello, my name is Tim. I am originally from Tyler, Texas, where I was born and raised. I graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, now known as Legacy. My work ethic has been ingrained in me since I was twelve, rooted in experience since starting my very first job at an A&W restaurant, where I learned to make root beer. This early experience set the stage for a 26-year journey in law enforcement, beginning at the Smith County Sheriff’s Department under Sheriff J.B. Smith. I started in the jail, and after two years, I attended the Police Academy, becoming a Deputy.
My career progressed as I moved to Wood County, settling in Mineola, where I began working for the Wood County Sheriff’s Office. Shortly thereafter, I joined the Mineola Police Department, where I dedicated myself to serving the community I came to cherish. I honorably retired from the Mineola Police Department in October 2013, but my connection to the community remained strong.
After retirement, I returned to Tyler, where I worked in the security industry. Throughout my career, I became a licensed TCOLE instructor and a licensed TOPS instructor, and I hold a master peace officer license. My involvement with SWAT as the first one in and as a certified hostage negotiator reflects my commitment to public safety and dedication to protecting those I love. Those who know me often remark on my overwhelming conversational nature; I genuinely believe in connecting with people and have never met a stranger.
When I saw the announcement for my current position at Mineola Primary School, I felt a profound sense of purpose and a calling to serve in Law Enforcement once again. There is a true mission and ministry here for the children and staff, and I take great pride in serving this community. My faith in God has always guided my path, and I am convinced that I was meant to be here. I approach my role with a servant’s heart, valuing the needs of others over my own ego. The safety of your children is the primary commitment of every officer in the Mineola ISD Police Department. I want to assure you that your children are safe while at any of our campuses, and it is our mission to maintain this secure educational environment every day for them.
