HOWDY! I'M MIKE....
I was born in Irving, Texas, and graduated from Coronado High School in Lubbock in 1992. My early career was a mix of various roles in the construction industry and as a mechanic, and I also traveled across the U.S. working in scaffold construction. Driven by a passion for service, I decided to pursue a career in law enforcement and enrolled in the Police Academy when I was 25.
I started my law enforcement career in West Texas, where I gained extensive experience in key roles such as K9 Handling, SWAT, and Patrol Corporal over the course of 14 years with my first department. This experience allowed me to hone my skills and develop a deep expertise in law enforcement operations. I later transitioned to a Sheriff’s Department, where I continued my involvement in SWAT operations.
In 2016, my family and I moved to Mineola, and I began serving as a Patrol Sergeant with the Mineola Police Department. In 2019, I joined the Mineola ISD Police Department, where I’m serving today, dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of both students and staff. I’m deeply committed to creating a secure environment, viewing each student as if they were my own, and striving to ensure their safe return each day to their families.
I am TCOLE certified in various specializations, including basic instructor, field training officer, backcountry tracker, and criminal interdiction officer, among many others. My diverse background and unwavering dedication to school safety underpin my current role, where my primary mission is the protection and well-being of the school community at Mineola ISD. I plan to retire from the Mineola ISD Police Department, continuing to serve with the same commitment and dedication that has defined my career until my last day.
