We have 11 students signed up and 8 of those were able to attend our first practice yesterday in the Middle School gym. Tim Grosskopf, from the Mineola Disc Golf league, coached our students and taught them how to putt into the basket, assisted by Joshua Snook, MMS Assistant Principal.
The MISD practice course design is finalized and just waiting on the ground to be ready for the MISD Maintenance Department to pour the tee boxes and mount the baskets behind the softball field.
This is a free after school program for our Middle School students, made possible through the fundraising efforts and generosity of the Mineola Disc Golf Club and the leadership of Robert Johnson and the support of MISD.
If you are interested in joining or helping us, we meet on Mondays, 3:40-5:00 behind the Middle School. The Flint and Steel Coalition helps provide organizational support for this effort.
