DISTRICT AND CAMPUS GOALS AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 2018-2021
Vision for MISD: Prepare our students academically, socially, and emotionally to be successful in order to lead and serve.
Goal for Students: Learners will possess the courage and ability to set goals, navigate progress, and demonstrate mastery and character in order to lead change.
Reading:By the end of 2nd grade, the number of students reading on grade level will increase to 85% by 2021.

The percentage of students in grades 3-8 performing at “Meets” level performance will increase from 45% on STAAR to 60% in 2021

The number of English I and English II students performing at “Meets” level performance on STAAR will increase from 52% to 70% by 2021.

The percentage of students in grades 2-8 will show a 10% improvement at “meets” level as measured by MAP end of year achievement in 2018.
Math:The percentage of students in grades 3-8 performing at “Meets” level performance will increase from 46% on STAAR to 60% in 2021.

The number of Algebra I students performing at “Meets” level performance on STAAR will increase from 58% to 75% by 2021.

Social Studies:The number of students performing at “Meets” level performance on STAAR will increase from 20% to 35% in 8th grade and from 67% to 85% US History by 2021.

Writing:100% of teachers in core subjects areas will trained and implement writing strategies using the district developed writing process by Fall 2019.
NOTE: The baseline percentages will be established by Spring 2019 in order to set performance target levels.
ESL:The number of ESL students performing at the “Meets” level performance on STAAR will increase to 35% in reading and 55% in math by 2021. (2018 scores were 18% ELAR, 38% Math)
- 2018-19 target of 25% for reading and 45% for math
- 2019-20 target of 30% for reading and 50% for math
- 2020-21 target of 35% for reading and 55% for math
The percentage of students who advance at least one level in TELPAS composite scores will increase from 36% to 50% by 2021.

The percentage of teachers with ESL certification in core content subjects will increase to 100% in 2020-21 toward 100% of all staff in 2021-22.
CCMR:The number of students earning at least one of the follow CCMR criteria will increase from 40% to 75% by 2021.
- Met TSI in both Reading and Math
- Earned dual credit (3 hrs. English. or Math or 9 hrs in any subject)
- Industry-based certifications
- Completed IEP and Workforce Ready (code 04, 05, 54, 55)
- US Armed Forces
- CTE Coherent Sequence Coursework aligned to industry based standards

Graduation Rates:The number of students graduating will increase to 95% by 2021 for each subgroup (AA, HIspanic, White, EcoDis, ELL, SpEd)
