Employment of welding, soldering, and brazing workers is expected to increase 13% in Texas .

Students pursuing the Manufacturing Pathway will acquire the knowledge, skills, and technologies required for employment in metal technology systems. Students will develop knowledge and skills related to this system and apply them to personal career development. Welders join metal parts using heat and/or pressure to form a permanent bond. Parts are welded to manufacture products, build structures, or to repair broken or cracked parts. Welders generally work from drawings or specifications that are already laid out.
