Mr. David Sauer - Principal
Well, it's that time of year again!  It seems like just yesterday we were releasing students on the last day of school, and here we are ready to start another school year.  Each new year brings new opportunities for our students and a renewed commitment by our staff to provide the best educational experience possible for every student, every day.  We have completely redesigned our Career and Technical program to offer our students many new choices in elective course offerings.  Some of these include Teacher Preparation, Health Science, Information Technology, Welding, and Automotive Technology.  With the addition of these new tracks, we hope to prepare our students for whatever the future holds in areas that interest them.  In addition, and because of the increased rigor of high school curriculum, we are now offering our freshman a new Freshman Seminar course.  This innovative course will prepare them by providing guidance in the areas of study skills, literacy, college and career counseling, organization, and much more.

Many of you have known me for many years, but for those who do not, I will tell you a little about myself.  I have lived in Mineola for over 20 years with my wife Jenny, who is a 2nd grade teacher in the district.  We have three beautiful daughters - two of whom are grown and living happy lives.  My youngest will be a freshman at Texas A & M University this year.  I have served as an administrator at three of the four Mineola campuses in the 16 years that I have worked for the district, and I have loved every minute of it.  I truly believed that I was called to do this job.  I have twice attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education Principal's Institute in Boston, MA.  I have also served as the Regional President for the Texas Elementary Principal's Association, and am currently serving as State Coordinator for Region 7 for the Texas Association of Secondary School Administrators.  Educating our students is my life's work and I am passionate about serving the students of Mineola and building strong relationships with students, parents, and community partners.

Lastly, as always, we will hold our students to the highest standards of excellence in the classroom, in extra-curricular activities, and in behavior.  We sincerely want our students to be the absolute best that they can be.  At the same time, we will hold ourselves to the highest standards as well, because we believe that high expectations begin with the adults.  We want you, as parents, to know that we are 100% committed to giving your child the best high school experience that we can.  If you ever feel that we are falling short in achieving that, please do not hesitate to call or contact me personally.  I welcome your feedback and I thoroughly enjoy visiting with parents and community members.  You can contact me at 903-569-3000 or email at
