MISD Substitute Training

for New &  Returning Substitute Teachers

Anyone wishing to sub in a classroom for the 2019-2020  school year must attend one of the trainings.

 

Dates & Times

 

  • New Sub Training: Monday, August 19, 2019 - 9:00-11:30 a.m. OR 1:00-3:30 p.m.

     

  • Returning Subs “Refresh” Training: Tuesday, August 20, 2019 - 9:00a.m. OR

                 1:00 p.m.

  • MISD Administration Building, Board Room, 1695 W. Loop 564, Mineola, TX 75773

 

Objectives

  • Know, follow, and enforce the policies, procedures and practices of Mineola ISD
  • Understand the duties and responsibilities of a substitute teacher in MISD
  • Learn tips for classroom management, emergency procedures, and practices that promote a meaningful experience with students

Welcome Back to School Drop Off and Pick Up Information

Welcome to the 2019-20 School Year!  The start and ending times have not changed this year with Primary and Elementary set at 7:50 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and Middle and High School times of 8:00 a.m. - 3:40 p.m.  

The drop off and pick up procedures remain the same at the Primary and Middle School.  As the diagram shows, parent will enter through the gates at Meredith Memorial Stadium.  Primary pick-up will remain in front of the school and Middle School will remain at the back of the campus. 


MHS BAND NAMED TOP CLASS 3A HONOR BAND!!

The Mineola High School Concert Band was ranked #1 by the Texas Music
Educators Association (TMEA) as the Class 3A 2020 Honor Band. The band, under the
leadership of Director of Fine Arts, Chris Brannan, submitted music to the state
committee for judging and was selected as the top 3A Band in the State.


The MHS “Sound of the Swarm” will perform in February in San Antonio as the State 3A
Honor Band Champions during the TMEA convention. The growing program in Mineola
ISD will compete again this year for a return to the State Marching Band Competition in
November to defend their 2017 title of State Champions.


Literacy Partner Volunteers Needed for 2019-20

Join us with our goal of Every Child Reading on Grade Level by 3rd Grade by serving as a literacy partner this year! Volunteers are needed 30 minutes one day a week to read with 2 students in Kindergarten through 3rd Grade to allow them to practice their reading skills and enjoy a positive relationship with a caring adult!

 

Application packets are available at the Administration building at 1695 W. Loop 564.  Any questions can be directed to District Coordinator, Alexandra Roberts at 903-497-6335 or by email at xanroberts@gmail.com.  Training for volunteers will be held on the following dates:
